CHOCOLATE PECAN CARAMEL PIE

Chocolate Pecan Caramel Pie

(Serves 8)

  • 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cups butter, cut into small pieces
  • 14 oz evaporated milk
  • 2 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup whole pecans

Preheat oven to 475°F. Boil water and sugar until it caramelizes. Remove from heat, pour into bowl and slowly stir in butter and milk. Let cool for 5 minutes and then stir in chocolate and stir until smooth. Let cool for 10 - 15 minutes. Stir in nuts. Pour into pie shell and cover with whole pecans. Bake for 10 minutes and allow it to cool for 1 hour.
