CHOCOLATE ALMOND BARK

When it comes to gifts from the kitchen, this is surprisingly easy to make and always appreciated by its recipients. The key to great-tasting results is in toasting the almonds and using a good bittersweet chocolate that appeals to your tastebuds.

Yield: about 12 ounces

  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 cup whole natural almonds, toasted

Melt the chocolate over a double boiler. Whisk until smooth. Stir in the almonds. Spread the chocolate and almonds 3/8-inch thick on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Let set until hard, 2-3 hours.
